Remembering the Reason for the Season With Gifts MEMORIES OF A CATHOLIC WIFE & MOTHER - December 19, 2014 ... my children, using these cards. Treasure and Tradition: The Ultimate Guide to the Latin Mass This gem of a book comes highly recommended by our friends, including our pastor. I can't wait to see it. Fr. S. told me that looking at Treasure and Tradition you would think that it was an excellent reprint of an old book; however, it is a treasure that Lisa Bergman has written for Latin Mass goers (and anyone who is interested in the rich history of ...http://catholicmemories.blogspot.com/2014/12/remembering-reason-for-season-with-gifts.html

Christmas FAIL! RUNS WITH ANGELS . . . LIVES WITH SAINTS! - December 14, 2014 So, the college girl and Stretch were wanting to decorate the outside of the house for Christmas. After Mass this morning I sent them off to the store with my credit card and admonished them to be a bit careful about their purchases. They bought some of those dangly icicle lights for the roofline, which are about half up I guess, and this: Sheesh. So anyway, I began lighting up one of the trees earlier this evening and I had to run outside for something, ...http://runswithangels.wordpress.com/2014/12/14/christmas-fail/

Let the Christmas Thoughts Begin! DO NOT BE ANXIOUS - December 8, 2014 ... bags are unpacked; the clothes are washed, and a series of meetings I had set up are over. I was warmly welcomed and treated as family. I spent some time with some of my favorite people, including the three silly sisters and their two cute cousins. First Thoughts LET CHRIST BE FORMED IN ME - November 23, 2014 ... sense. We all have these verses memorized to some degree: "Love is patient. Love is kind...Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." This sounds so warm and quaint, but what I highlighted in my toast was that St. Paul never says love is easy. In fact, living in love is a difficult thing; it takes work and perseverance. Love is not just a happy feeling that comes over us and stays with us for eternity. True love calls us out of ourselves; it means ...http://fsppostulants.blogspot.com/2014/11/first-thoughts.html

Snowy Times Here in WNY, and the Comfort of Catholic Rituals When Someone You Love Has Died... LIFE OF A CATHOLIC LIBRARIAN - November 19, 2014 ... linger for nearly as long. I was at work and got stuck there, and I wasn't too happy about it. :) I remember sleeping on the floor of my office, using my suit jacket as a pillow, and thinking that maybe I should move. I did change jobs and career fields, but I obviously didn't move, and I'm not sorry I didn't. I love WNY, despite it's weather "eccentricities." :) It keeps things interesting, that's for sure. Music and Hospitality GOTTA SING GOTTA PRAY - November 17, 2014 Monday greetings from the frigid Midwest. Does anyone else think that this is way too cold way too early? I went to Mass yesterday at a local parish. This is one of those places where I have been quite frustrated because the effort has not been made to let the assembly members know where to find the sung Mass parts. I was delighted yesterday. Placed into the worship resource was a card that contained the music for the Gloria, Sanctus, ...http://gottasinggottapray.blogspot.com/2014/11/music-and-hospitality.html

Two Religions CAELUM ET TERRA - November 12, 2014 ... watching the smoke rise up from the coals, inhaling deeply. And miracles were not just long ago and far away. The nuns told us about Fr Solanus, who had lived down the highway in Detroit and healed people and bilocated and read hearts and was also a Tigers fan, like us. It was a religion rich in mystery, and one incident, when I was maybe ten, illustrates this vividly. I was getting ready to serve at a parish mission, run by Capuchin friars from Fr Solanus' monastery. I was preparing candles ...http://caelumetterra.wordpress.com/2014/11/12/two-religions/

A bright red ball is positioned on a pole on the top of the observatory building at the highest point in the area (we climbed it).
