What an amazing and awesome Gift we have in Christ! About ten years ago, in his Apostolic Exhortation, Sacramentum Caritatis , Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI was reflecting on his inauguration homily immediately after being elected pope. For one thing just to renew acquaintance with friars that I have not seen for a while is a blessing, as well as getting to better know other friars, especially the younger ones. Chapters are also for electing leadership and we will complete the process this morning of electing our provincial council. Monday Musings - Being Consciously in the Presence of God HARVESTING THE FRUITS OF CONTEMPLATION - June 5, 2017 ... Siena, but no less deserving of your consideration. This is how Rev. M. Raymond, a Trappist priest, in his book, God, A Woman and the Way , explains his approach: "Relatively few are allowed to spend their whole day in a convent, monastery or church. Yet, no one should spend his day or her day, or one hour of the day, without being consciously in the presence of God. It demands an exercise of memory. It requires an effort of mind. But it can become second nature to us if we ...http://harvestingthefruitsofcontemplation.blogspot.com/2017/06/monday-musings-being-consciously-in.html

Now that we exist have mercy on us. Re-make the vessel which You created in Your own image and likeness. A Rogation Procession in Southern France NEW LITURGICAL MOVEMENT - May 25, 2017 Our friends of the Fraternity of St Joseph the Guardian in La Londe Les Maures, France, were recently welcomed by a parishioner to his vineyard for a Rogation procession and Mass. For logistic reasons, the event had to be moved at the last minute from Rogation Monday to the previous Saturday, so the procession was held to invoke God's blessing upon the fields, followed by the Mass of the day, St Bernardin of Siena. St. Bernardine of Siena ATONEMENTONLINE - May 19, 2017 In the year 1400, there was a terrible plague going throughout what we now know as Italy. In the city of Siena, dozens of people were dying each day, and many of those who were dying were the very ones who were caring for the sick. It was a terrible situation – more and more people getting sick, but fewer and fewer people to care for them. It was then that a young man came to the door of the largest hospital in Siena. He had not come because he was ...http://atonementparish.blogspot.com/2017/05/st-bernardine-of-siena.html

St. Bernardine of Siena, the Apostle of Italy BIG C CATHOLICS - May 19, 2017 On May 20th, the Church celebrates the optional memorial of Saint Bernardine of Siena. If Bernardine were alive today, there is no doubt that he would be a media sensation. Renowned as one of the most influential preachers of his time, he was even compared to St. Paul by Pope Pius II for both his zeal and the charismatic nature of his words. Though not without his detractors, who would themselves be silenced by Pope Martin V, Bernardine became known as the "Apostle of ...http://www.bigccatholics.com/2017/05/st-bernardine-of-siena-apostle-of-italy.html
